Free on the NHS this autumn if you are eligible, or privately if you are not.
COVID-19 is still with us, and for older people and those with a weakened immune system it can still be serious. Benson Pharmacy gives the NHS autumn COVID-19 vaccine to people who are eligible, and offers it privately to anyone else who would like protection, here in the pharmacy with no need to see your GP.
Free on the NHS this autumn
The NHS autumn 2026 programme offers the vaccine to:
- Adults aged 75 and over
- Residents in care homes for older adults
- Anyone aged 6 months and over with a weakened immune system, for example because of a transplant, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, long-term steroid treatment, biological therapy, treatment for a blood cancer or HIV, or a genetic condition affecting the immune system
The list is a summary. If you are not sure whether your condition or treatment counts, ask us and we will check. The vaccine is usually offered no sooner than six months after your last dose.
Not eligible? Have it privately
If you are outside the NHS groups, or would like the vaccine outside the NHS season, you can have it here privately. Ask us for the current price and availability.
What happens at your appointment
We go through a few questions about your health, any allergies and your previous doses, then give the vaccine as an injection in the upper arm. We ask you to stay with us for a short while afterwards, and explain what to expect.
Good to know
- A sore arm, tiredness, a headache or mild aching for a day or two are common and pass quickly
- You can have the flu vaccine at the same visit if you are eligible for both, one in each arm
- If you have COVID-19 symptoms, or have tested positive in the last four weeks, wait until you are better before having the vaccine
